W e've never found a more hands-on, heartfelt nonprofit than I Am Waters. Year three of the foundation's Supermodels' Luncheon took place at River Oaks Country Club. Founder Elena Davis — whose personal story segues from poverty to magazine covers to lifting up the homeless — alongside husband Gregg and chair couples Phoebe and Bobby Tudor and Debra and Mark Grierson assured a uniquely memorable day. Supermodels Rachel Hunter, Chandra North, Julie Anderson, Stephanie Romanov, and Jeff Aquilon joined Humanitarian honoree Lynn Wyatt in adding glamour to an afternoon that sought to shine a light upon homelessness. The six figures raised benefitted I Am Waters' mission of reaching 640,000 this summer via branded water bottles bearing simple, resounding words — Hope, Peace, Dream and Love, the latter the luncheon's theme. I Am Waters angels: emcee NBC's Janet Shamlian who, along with the Harbor Lights choir crooning "The Star-Spangled Banner," started the proceedings on an uplifting note; super philanthropists Terri and John Havens (he received a birthday serenade from Rachel Hunter), Joanne King Herring, Anne Mendelsohn, Becca Cason Thrash, Cabrina and Steven Owsley, Beth Muecke, Neiman's Bob Devlin, Laura Sweeney, Gabriela and Gary Gerhart of the Motherhood Center, Tootsies' Fady Armanious, IAW board chair Jim Pierce, Laurie and Tracy Krohn, Kristi Schiller, Lindley Arnoldy, and pink-tressed Vivian Wise. Keynote speaker Sister Maureen O'Connell, director of Angela House, which assists women leaving the criminal justice system, spoke of the power of that IAW water bottle; and Lee Valkenaar, Whole Foods' Whole Planet Foundation board co-chairman, announced that the distinctive IAW vessels will make an appearance at a Whole Foods Market near you.
