PARISDALLAS DEEP IN THE HEART OF THE DESIGN TRIBE + A VERRRY LONG GONDOLA SOFA = Lynn Goode Vintage's Big Reveal A long the new West Alabama design corridor, Hol- lywood Square, Suite 340 was the place to be that evening. Discerning designers, elite aesthetes and very cool cats converged, bee-lining to the distinc- tive blue door that blew open for the grand opening of a swanky destination that's important and well-edited and possesses an intelligent pedigree — we're talking about Lynn Goode Vintage. The boîte's namesake, Miz Goode, has a career that's arced from gallerist to bookstore owner in Marfa and now to proprietor of a space that serves up the best of the modernist oeuvre, offering talents who defined mid-20th-century design, such as Charlotte Perriand, Frank Lloyd Wright, George Na- kashima, T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings and Milo Baughman. Deep Eddy Vodka and Selmo Wines wet the whistles of the beautiful crowd that perched upon mid-century delights such as a gondola sofa upholstered in sapphire- blue velvet and a Hollywood Regency chesterfield swathed in biscuit-tufted crushed velvet. Acolytes of the eve- ning: Susie and Sanford Criner; Emily Griffith, who serves as store director; Elegant Addition's Julie Koch and Richard Humphreys; artist Christy Karll; Christina Girard; Looking at Art's Victoria and Marshal Lightman; the proprietress' husband Harrison Williams; neighbors Gabriela and Gary Gerhart of the Motherhood Center; Paula Fyhr; Delise Ward and Tootsies' Craig Lidji; Federal Judge Vanessa Gilmore; architect Lauren Rottet; sculptor Page Kempner; Mr. Pop/top collector Frank Herzog; architect Shane Cook; Pam Glosser- man; Claudia Solís; gallerists Nicole Longnecker and Brad Barber; designer Emily Jackson; Saint Cloud's Cecilia Márquez with gal pal Tatiana Bacci of Poggenpohl; Mi- chael Mandola; Matt Johns; Jonathan Beitler; design- obsessed collectors Jan and John Bebout; architect Ben Koush; and the Blaffer Art Museum's Emily Church. CHAPEAUX DE COWBOY! Indiens d'Amérique! Plumes! Arc et flèches! Rouge à lèvres balles! Vive les Métiers d'Art, Paris- Dallas! Seven months after the Chanel-clad rodeo infiltrated Dallas' Fair Park, the collection has finally arrived. We've been counting the days, hours and minutes until we could get our hands on the pre-fall Wild West-inspired confections unveiled that historic night. Flashback: Karl Lagerfeld corralled 900 of the fashion industry's elite and deposited them in a 1950s-inspired drive-in movie theater with 74 pristine vintage convertibles, followed by a rodeo backdrop of 95 looks that walked the straw-covered runway. In this collection, Lagerfeld shows us how the West was won à la Française with a boxier take on the classic Chanel suit, prairie blouses, chunky knits, head- dresses, lipstick ammo, Native American prints, stars, stripes, pearls, bolos, barrel clutches and boots. Just a few of our favorite things. Prices upon request, at the Chanel boutique. Megan Pruitt Winder
