The occasion: welcoming New York social dynamo Lauren Santo Domingo, co-founder of online trunk show behemoth Moda Operandi, to town. LSD was here to co-host a fall trunk show (and cocktails, bien sûr) with Adilova and PaperCity and showcase two emerging and notable designers: New Zealand-born London designer Emilia Wickstead and New York-based British shoe designer Paul Andrew. Après déjeuner, friends and guests gathered in the glass rooftop lounge, passing elegant velvet leopard mascots that anchored the entrance, to check in with iPad-clad M.O. staff. The glamorous sofas and chandeliers in the pop-up boutique set the stage for twirling in dresses, with cocktails and sustenance from The Joule. "Everywhere I looked, I was enchanted: Delpozo's mod shift dress, Kimberly McDonald's quartz geode ring, Emilia Wickstead's incredible python dress," exclaimed practiced shopper Gwenda-lin Grewal. Sadly, designer Josep Font, the creative director celebrating his first year with the 40-year-old Spanish brand Delpozo, couldn't attend, but his must-see collection imbued with retro geometric silhouettes garnered close attention, as did the luxurious M2Malletier handbag collection. Ladylike styles from Emilia Wickstead were elegantly poised on mannequins, and shoeboxes scattered the floor as ladies slipped on polka-dot heels aplenty from Paul Andrew. Shopping with a serious M.O.: Sue Gragg, Rebecca Finley, Julie Hawes, Lucy Wrubel, Chandra North, Lynn McBee, Kary Brittingham, Cate Ford, Merritt Beck, and Anais Morrel. Nasiba Adilova Bethany Burke
