F or almost 40 years, dapper design showroom owner David Sutherland has been on the cusp of the cutting edge while maintaining a genteel signature style. Recently he added more names to his showrooms' impressive roster: Rose Tarlow and Phillip Jeffries. To celebrate their arrival, he hosted a party for friends, family and his swanky decorating clientele at his recently renovated 30,000-square-foot, to-the-trade showroom, which includes the new Sutherland/Perennials Boutique. HUNTING WITH ROYALS Laurier Blanc owner Suzanne Coppola invited history buffs and devotees of decor back in time to commemorate the unveiling the Royal Hunt Collection, the largest known private assemblage of hunting trophies outside of Europe. Meticulously restored from the 18th, 19th, and early 20th centuries, the antlers were mounted at Pettigrew Fine Furnishings showroom for the exclusive viewing of the collection, which is valued at more than $2.6 million. Guests indulged in Manuscript wine and macaroons from Patisse as they fancied themselves back in Imperial Germany. SHOWERED WITH CHICNESS Design-world darling Jan Showers invited guests to her Slocum Street showroom for a sneak peek of her latest Paris shipment, as well as her new rug collaboration with Moattar. As guests sipped martinis, Moattar reps Andrea Moattar, Jason Moattar, and Matt Fleming presented the exquisite collection of antique Persian rugs.
