DECORATION D esigner Miles Redd's new (and first) collection for Schumacher is quite the stunner. First, let's look at the dazzling Glass Paneling Mylar wallpaper in silver, inspired by the glamorous David Adler mirrored bathroom famously installed in Miles Redd's home. Then jump to Cubist in peacock, a fabric in non-repeat 96-inch panels with a complex stitched-together face of silk taffeta pieces. Brighton Pavilion in black and white is a luscious Chinoiserie design hand-engraved in Europe, available in fabric and wallpaper with a 12-foot vertical repeat, and is based on an 18th- century Swedish document belonging to Redd. And Peacock in cream was inspired by the beautiful 1930s chintzes of John Fowler and Nancy Lancaster. Miles Redd for Schumacher, to the trade at the Schumacher showroom. Holly Moore REDD ALERT D allas-based home furnishings designer Arteriors launched its first upholstered furniture collection at High Point market in North Carolina last month. Arteriors is known for producing exquisite collaborations with top designers Laura Kirar, Windsor Smith, Barry Dixon, and Jay Jeffers among others; the new upholstery line was the missing link in a successful lineup of lighting, accessories and small furniture. The 10-piece collection includes sofas, settees, chairs and a bench, and are available in three leathers, four Belgian linens, six velvets and two wood finishes. Some pieces will be kept in stock for quick ship, and others are by special order. $2,900 to $9,550, at the Arteriors flagship store, 1413 Dragon, and at arteriorshome.com. Rebecca Sherman NEXT UP Duprey settee, $3,600 G erman designer André Schelbach's newest addition to his Yomei collection, Ms Moneypenny, pays homage to the Biedermeier rolltop desk — but that's where the comparison ends. Schelbach, who founded Yomei in 2006, is renowned for combining modern requirements, updated materials and manufacturing with classic styles. Ms Moneypenny's compact, fan-shaped hood (shown retracted here) is made of leather and metal; its drawers are stainless steel (including a hidden compartment — how very James Bond) and outfitted to house computer cables, plus discreet electric sockets and internal lighting. Fascinating … not unlike 007's most pragmatic and mysterious female sidekick. Price upon request, at Bernadette Schaeffler, bernadetteschaeffler.com. Rebecca Sherman TAKE A LETTER A CLASSIC REBORN T he Klismos chair has its origins in 5th century BC Greece, but it couldn't feel more modern. The great American designer T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings recognized its timeless beauty and its potential in the 1960s, and his original furniture designs, based on the Klismos, have become priceless classics. Robsjohn- Gibbings' Klismos Collection was manufactured by Saridis of Athens, a renowned cabinetmaker established in 1867, which first began producing the collection in the 1960s, using Greek methods and materials such as walnut, leather and bronze. While the collection has remained in continuous production in Athens, it has not been available in North America for 40 years. Last month, Dallas interior designer Emily Summers reintroduced Saridis of Athens to the United States through her showroom, Emily Summers | Studio 54. On the floor now, the Robsjohn-Gibbings Klismos group includes two chairs, a stool, couch and table. Price upon request, at Emily Summers | Studio 54, 54 Highland Park Village, 214.521.5454, emilysummersstudio54.com. Rebecca Sherman T his fall, ID Collection owners Joe DeMourelle, Bonnie Martin and Jim Williamson celebrate 15 years in the showroom biz with a slew of new names, including two fabric lines from Milan: Alcantara, which is known for its luxurious vegan suede that's been laser- cut, topstitched, braided and embedded with crystals; and Kohro, whose rare double-width cashmeres and other sumptuous fabrics can be endlessly customized. Toronto-based Powell & Bonnell's contemporary furniture, lighting and textiles are hitting the floor for the first time this fall; look for unusual finishes and best sellers that are kept in stock for quick ship. 5120 Woodway Dr. #4001, 713.623.2344, interiordesigncollection.com.
