F rom the moment the thick, rose-covered invitation arrived, we knew it would be an epic evening: the opening cocktail reception at Dolce & Gabbana in River Oaks District, followed by a dinner co-hosted by Dolce and Becca Cason Thrash at Palazzo Thrash, aka the spectacular home she shares with hubby John Thrash. The soirée commenced with the first chance to shop the new collection and accessories in the gorgeous boutique with its garnet-red wallpaper, laced with banquettes and ottomans in tufted red velvet. Miz Thrash wore an artful black-and-white lace cocktail dress with an oversized cross (by Dolce, naturally). The crowd sipped cocktails (served by handsome gents in white tie) as they shopped, air-kissing and closing conversations with "I'll see you at Becca's?" The stage was certainly set for act two at Palazzo Thrash, where Becca changed into her second divine Dolce: a black lace number with gold flowered brooches. Team Dolce & Gabbana went all out for the affair, who, along with Richard Flowers of The Events Company, transformed the art-filled home into a scene out of one of Dolce & Gabbana's Sicilian Alta Moda Extravaganzas (The designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, flew Thrash, a longtime collector of couture, to Italy to attend the first Alta Moda a few years ago). Ivy and red roses filled the archways, and a show-stopping 30-foot dessert table lit by flickering candelabra juxtaposed dozens and dozens of roses with confections flown in from Italy. In for the evening to represent Dolce & Gabbana were Italian aristocrat, longtime Dolce muse and current head of couture Coco Brandolini D'Adda; president of Dolce & Gabbana North America Tina Bhojwani; director of communications Valerio D'Ambrosio; and haute couture sales manager Frantz Modeste, alongside store manager Bernie Cantu. Stylish revelers: Carmina Zamorano, Lora Clemmons, Henry Richardson and Monsour Taghdisi, Erin and James Stewart, Lindley and Jason Arnoldy, Monica and John Blaisdell, Chris Goins, Tatiana Massey, and Natalie Lefevre.
