WEB ( ster ) CAUGHT IN A VERY CHIC Anne Lee Phillips on Laure's lavish evening. Photography Billy Farrell Agency. I t wasn't your average in-store soirée. How could it be, given the hostess and venue: Miami-based, French-born Laure Hériard Dubreil and her impossibly chic boutique The Webster, floating on its own little pod at the Galleria. Out-of-town pop- culture guests may have even outnumbered the local socials and style setters. Hériard Dubreil's international and New Yorker friends flew in to toast the boutique's first expansion outside of Miami — with 100-year-old Louis XIII cognac special-ordered from her family's Rémy Martin distillery in France. Champagne flowed, and City Kitchen served up urbane bites. Allison Sarofim, a regular name on The Salonniere 100 list of the nation's best party hosts, was in from New York with beau Stuart Parr to host a dinner in The Webster's honor following the fête, at her father Fayez Sarofim's River Oaks party estate, la Maison Blanche — the billionaire no longer resides there but retains the home for family soirées. Paterfamilias Sarofim himself attended the opening with wife Susan but bid an early adieu before dinner. As if staging a contemporary Slim Aarons photograph, guests lingered poolside in small groups to the sounds of a mariachi band before tucking in to a late-night moonlit dinner of Mexican fare.
