He was an exec for Todd Events (the event-planning and design firm helmed by the singular Todd Fiscus) and a partner of Rest + Revolution Public Relations, which he launched with fellow PR guru Suzanne Droese. But late last year, Madans went solo. New plans were on the horizon. As a result, two design projects launched this fall, aimed at the well-dressed man. WTF. SUP. Emoji wearing sun- glasses. No, this is not your iMessage inbox, but the quirky monograms that dot the collection of pocket squares for Halo Homme by Josh Madans, the gentleman's complement to the Halo Home collection of monogrammed home linens by Kimberly Schlegel Whitman. Halo Homme takes size into consider- ation — standard pocket squares rarely fit into smaller jacket pockets; Halo Homme squares do — and the designs pack wit, with a wealth of emojis and clever acronyms. When your monogram is NMP, and you explain that it stands for Not My Problem … well, that's an icebreaker. Madans' second project is Billy Baker Co., a masculine collection of neck and wrist ropes, strung with beaded gemstones sourced over the world and handmade in Dallas. Designed by Ma- dans, they combine the coolness of an Abbot Kinney hipster with something a mogul might sport in Aspen.
