ART+DECORATION UNDER FOOT A brash Decorative Rug Gallery's n e w A b r a s h Modern line m e r g e s t h e 37-year-old company's renowned ancient weaving techniques with a freshened aesthetic. Two years in the making, the collection debuts this month, at the hand of Abrash owners Fara and Alireza Kayone, who commissioned designers across the globe to produce 95 organic and geometric designs, all of which can be customized. "We wanted something special and individual," says Fara, "but also affordable for younger people." The look may be contemporary, but the quality is positively heirloom. Made in Nepal by master weavers from hand-spun wool, silk, and bamboo, a single 9-by-12-foot rug can take a year to create. Added bonus? Abrash employs child-free labor and uses vegetable dyes for all its rugs. Abrash Decorative Rug Gallery (to the trade), 1025 N. Stemmons Freeway, Suite 760, 214.573.6262, abrashrugs.com.
