18 T he only thing I'll have to buy online from now on is a ticket to Dallas — to shop at the new Forty Five Ten on Main. To celebrate the opening of the stunning four-floor fashion mecca, Forty Five Ten president and co-founder Brian Bolke and Tim Headington, CEO of Headington Companies, hosted a most fun, amus- ing, and inspiring 36 hours in their city. A hoard of out-of-town guests comprising designers, artists, jour- nalists, friends, and eccentrics in general descended on downtown Dallas to celebrate the newest addition to the ever-changing cultural and archi- tectural landscape. Thursday night, I picked up my date — Houston glamour ambassador at large Becca Cason Thrash, stun- ning in Lanvin, Alaïa, and diamond brooches — at The Joule hotel and crossed the street to join the party: an intimate dinner fueled by Dom Pérignon. The John Galliano-designed elevator provided colorful transpor- tation through the store, where a perfectly edited selection of known fashion houses and young designers are brilliantly showcased. On Friday, a tour of superb private Dallas art collections hosted by Gayle Stoffel, Deedie Rose, Cindy and Howard Rachofsky, and Marguerite Hoffman, reminded all visitors of the important work this community does toward the elevation of the city to an arts and culture capital, and how the rejuvenation of Downtown and the new store fit within a much larger and important social and urban scheme. Adam Lippes, fresh from a trunk show in Houston, was Cindy Rachofsky's designer of choice. She wore his couture Thursday night and a look from his resort collection for a Friday luncheon she hosted at her and Howard's private educational art space, The Warehouse. Her jewelry that afternoon — stunning bangles — was by designer Ippolita Rostagno, who was in attendance. Elaine Agather was also a luncheon co-host, and at each seat, guests received a note with her famous Elaine's Eight words of wisdom. On Friday night, the theme was The Eccentrics to celebrate the inspi- rational personalities photographed by Laura Cunningham, Tim Headington, Andra Day Mad scientist Douglas Little DJ Evalicious Ring leaders: Nick Wooster, Brian Bolke, Taylor Tomasi Hill Jack McCollough, Lazaro Hernandez, Derek Blasberg Brian Bolke, Brooke Davenport Donald Robertson Faisal Halum Rob Dailey, John Miles Michael & Shelle Sills Al Tidwell, Erin Wasson
