NET-A-PORTER x PaperCity September rings in the start of the sartorial new year and, with it, a fresh crop of need- to-know designers. Make the acquaintance of Neous, Trademark, Wanda Nylon, Staud, and Koché — NET-A-PORTER's newest names, selected for the luxury online retailer by the very savvy Retail Fashion Director and style insider, Lisa Aiken. Aiken's keen eye is always on the pulse, so take note: Pieces from these emerging designers are a must to make their way from digital cart to closet this season. BY BRADLEY AGATHER MEANS NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK NEOUS B uilt on a less-but-more philosophy by co-founders Vanissa Antonious and Alan Baunne, Neous shoes are as beautiful to the eye as they are on the feet. Designed in London and handcrafted in Italy, the standout styles put an architectural spin on day-to-day footwear. Neous redefines modernism in supple calfskin, buttery suede, and hand-woven macramé mixed with geometric design elements, such as squared-off or dramatically curved edges. A mule is updated with a chunky Perspex heel; slip-on-and- go slides revisit tradition with sculptural buckles; and color blocking makes a graphic play on the pared-back boot. Editor's Pick: Suede mules with the Neous signature ring embellishment and block heel. Vanissa Antonious and Alan Buanne "NO ONE CAN UNDERESTIMATE THE BRAND AWARENESS AND GROWTH THAT NET-A-PORTER CAN BRING TO AN EMERGING BRAND ... WE CAN NOW REACH WOMEN GLOBALLY." — Vanissa Antonious and Alan Baunne, Neous Co-Founders/Designers 70
