36 La Dolce Vita, INDEED (continued from page 34) Alvise Orsini Andrew Echols, Richard Flowers, Tracey Amon, Tami Dias, Greg Fourticq Harlequin Brian Bolke, Kamie Lightburn Richard Flowers, Sara Dodd, Will Denton Alan Bentz & Sallymoon Benz, Harry Cooper Duyen & Marc Nguyen Steve & Linda Ivy Kip Forbes, Lizzie Helvie Monsour Taghdisi, Becca Cason Thrash Mary Ellen Marziale, Stéphane Gerschel Hamish Bowles Thierry Wasser, Lucas Somoza O f course, we were there to raise euro for Venetian Heritage. Avidly watching the auction was Venetian Heritage president Valentina Marini Clarelli Nasi. Under the hammer were artworks donated by The Haas Brothers, Joseph Marioni, and Douglas Gordon, as well as a one-off Maserati Quattroporte GranLusso V8, with Maserati CEO Reid Bigland handing the keys to Jill and Calvin Schlenker, for- merly of Houston. The Slater Bradley painting was bought by Nancy Rogers from Dallas, in absentia, via intense bidding by Brian Bolke. An exclusive invitation to the Forbes family Chateau de Balleroy was won by Diane Lokey Farb. A trip to Marfa was snatched up by Roberto and Mary Ellen Marziale, and a lavish Brazil trip went to Laura and Evan Greenberg. Funds went to restoration of the second wing of the Gallerie dell'Accademia, built in 1807, and for the restoration of 66 Old Master paintings. Nobles you know: It's an important event when the famously reclusive Venetians appear — Mario and Henrietta Codognato of iconic and ancient Codognato jewelers were there, as was Francesca Possati, the beautiful owner of the Bauer hotels, with her son Allessandro (she opened her private pal- azzo for the tours); Andrea and Nancy Gaggia, who also opened their private palazzo to guests. Rodman Primack, head of design at Miami Basel; from Paris Lucas Somoza and Thierry Wasser; and from NYC, Kip Forbes, Joe Blount, and Ben Aguilar. From Rome, Monica Bacardi, and Mexico City's Liliana and Frederico Sada Gonzalez were there, as was Duran Duran's John Taylor and wife Gela from London. From Dallas was Heritage Auctions owner Steve Ivy with wife Linda, and Brian Bolke. But it's the Houston contingent that pulled out all the stops: Duyen and Marc Nguyen, Richard Flowers and Angel Rios, Andrew Echols, Sara Dodd and Will Denton, Carmina and Rafael Chavez, Judith Oudt, Mark Sullivan, Diane Lokey Farb, Ceron, Tami Dias, Laura and Evan Greenberg, Monsour Taghdisi and Henry Richardson, Glen Gonzalez, and Alan Bentz and Sallymoon Benz.
