letter publisher STEVEN VISNEAU, SISTERBROTHER MGMT 20 I f there's any month to be in Dallas, it is April. The city is alive and buzzing with events, marking almost every day of one's planner. It is truly a marathon of a month. Among the whirlwind of PaperCity-sponsored art and charity events, we also celebrate a new partnership with EARTHx, the largest annual environmental exhibition and programming initia- tive in the world. Founded in 2011 by philanthropist Trammell S. Crow, the event has grown substantially since its inception, boasting more than 900 exhibitors and 100,000 attendees last year. The main event is held Friday through Sunday, April 20 through 22, at Fair Park and offers something for everyone, with topics ranging from home, health, technology, and conservation. Complementing the Fair Park extravaganza is the EARTHxFilm series, with more than 60 feature and short films that explore conservation, climate change, and the environment Friday through Sunday, April 13 through 22, plus the EARTHx Global Gala, taking place at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science Friday, April 20. More details on programming can be found beginning on page 46. We're also anxiously awaiting Soluna, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra's month-long festival in May that joins the DSO with international artists and Dallas institutions such as the Crow Collection of Asian Art, The Dallas Opera, Texas Ballet Theater, and many, many more. To get in on the action early, catch a prelude performance, Eyes as Bright as Diamonds — a collaboration between New-York based artist Jen Ray and singer/ songwriter Sarah Jaffe, which celebrates Dallas Art Fair's 10th anniver- sary, on April 11 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center. For a complete listing of events, grab the 2018 Soluna Festival Guide, which will be inserted in next month's issue of PaperCity. In the meantime, wishing you an eventful and joyful spring. Briana Buxbaum Dallas Publisher briana@papercitymag.com
