26 MAMBO ITALIANO BY LISA COLLINS SHADDOCK. PHOTOGRAPHY RHI LEE. V alentino tends to make one's heart flut- ter. Before we could recover from falling head over feels for the latest collection, the fashion house had us swooning at a fête to celebrate its new Highland Park Village address. Valentino ambassador and peripatetic traveler Carlos Souza and his trio of formidable fashion hosts — Nasiba Adilova, Tina Craig, and Nancy Rogers — assembled a cast of chic- meets-chic for champagne and toasts while DJ Lucy Wrubel (looking fabulously sparkly) set an upbeat mood. The boutique, designed by Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli and British architect David Chipperfield, has all the elements of a pedigreed palazzo — just where one should live when draped in Valentino. As guests worked their way past the emblematic stilettos and toward the embroidered tulle gowns, the soothing refrain could almost be heard: It's all for a good cause; these Rockstuds benefit The Dallas Contemporary! Afterwards, a small group, including HP Village co-owners Heather and Ray Washburne and Elisa and Stephen Summers, whisked Souza to dinner for late-night revelry. The scene, as per most high-society, late-night dinners, was Le Bilboquet. SEEN: Valentino top brass Blair Newell and Georgia Gomez, as well as Georgina Hartland, Lynn McBee, Kelly Dillard, Rob Dailey, Jamie O'Banion, Brooke Hortenstine, Moll Anderson, Sheryl Maas, Patsy Fagadau, Caroline Summers, Peter Doroshenko, Liz Thrash, Ashley Griffin, Mallory Kaplan.
