76 WHERE TO EAT I t's been more than a year since Nick Badovinus debuted his extravagant Dallas Design District restaurant Town H e a r t h , w h e r e i n t e r i o r s include 60-plus giant crystal chandeliers, a submerged yellow submarine, and a 1974 Ducati Sport. Now the chef behind Montlake Cut, Off-Site Kitchen, and Neighborhood Services introduces a slightly more low-key concept. Perfect Union Pizza Co. is tucked beneath Fachini in the first-floor space next to Highland Park Village Theatre. Since its early April opening, it's drawn dressed-up date-night couples, Park Cities mamas with tots in tow, and famous faces, including Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett. They're coming not only to see the funky skateboards and red 1963 Ducati Mountaineer motorcycle on display, but also for Badovinus' inventive pies: the red-sauce My Sharona, topped with soppressatta, charred pepperonata, and Calabrian chile; Cordon Bleu-ish, with a vodka sauce, roasted chicken, Parma ham, scamorza, ricotta, and arugula; and the white-sauce #Jeff pizza with scamorza, Canadian bacon, roasted pineapple, red onion, and shishito peppers. Large plates include spaghetti with meatballs and chicken parmesan, plus hearty salads A PERFECT UNION PIZZA AND MORE PIZZA BY LINDEN WILSON such as shredded kale in a balsamic- fig dressing and eggplant parmesan. Order the perfect union of a pizza and beer, or perhaps a cocktail to savor on the outdoor patio. We recommend the Elizabeth (gin, basil, balsamic, strawberry) or the Delfina (tequila, lemon, Peychaud's bitters, grapefruit). In another perfect partnership, Perfect Union offers ice cream flavors such as salted caramel and chocolate peanut butter from Dallas-based Howdy Homemade.
