NOTES ON FASHION BY STEVEN HEMPEL D ior expands the Lingot collection with new travel bags featuring the CD Diamond Pattern, from the house archives. Distinguished by their rectangular shape, shoulder strap with industrial CD buckle, and saddle-like flap, the bags have been reinterpreted by Dior Menswear artistic director Kim Jones for the Dior Men Fall 2022 collection. The launch W hile the space race has returned with gusto, there's another race that many of us are losing: the face race — the perpetual drive to turn back the clock to the days when we woke up with perfect (well, almost) skin. For most, myself included, turning back the clock means taking greater care of our faces. Melanie Simon, aesthetician and skincare guru, developed a potent, highly stabilized Vitamin C serum that brightens and repairs skin. The concentrated serum tightens pores, reduces fine lines, and repairs damage from UV exposure. The results speak for themselves. Pair this with a good cleanser, wear your sunscreen, and use three to seven times a week, and you'll see the difference. Melanie Simon Serum C, $200 for 30 ml, at Neiman Marcus, MY NEW FAVORITE SKIN BEST FRIEND J axon Lane is the brainchild of California-based husband- and-wife team Alex Penfold and Jen Yu, who founded the brand in 2018. The men's skincare line relies on premium ingredients that don't overwhelm with "manly" scents or dyes. It's a great way for gentleman to enjoy a simple and effective skincare regimen. These days, it seems like every essential has five additional essentials, so we love how they keep things straightforward. After all, figuring out what we really need is half the battle. The fragrance- free hydrogel Bro Masks are a great way to pamper your face, and while the masks get much of the attention, I personally love their Shake and Wake enzyme facial cleanser. The powdered face wash lathers into a silky, clean- smelling foam that gently cleanses the face. Use morning and evening and W hile you look great in your birthday suit, a little something extra can bring out the best in that beautiful coat of yours and show off that big, beautiful smile. We've found that perfect something just for you: Celine is expanding its saddlery collection to include accessories for dogs. Designed by Heidi Slimane for his own pooch, the collection includes collars, leashes, bags, and even a leather-wrapped stainless bowl. Rooted in Celine's leather expertise, each piece is expertly crafted using Triomphe canvas and black or tan refined smooth calfskin. Celine dog accessories $175 – $2,250, at the Celine boutique, includes shoulder, m e s s e n g e r , a n d t o i l e t r y bags and a b r i e f c a s e , available in gray or black — perfect to accompany the urban man on his daily journeys. Dior Lingot collection, $930 – $6,100, at the Dior boutique, THE FACE RACE follow with the Relax and Repair anti- aging moisturizer for a very happy face. The consistency is perfect, not too oily, nor too light — that perfect balance that eludes so many; they've managed to find nirvana. In fact, it won GQ's Best Moisturizer accolades for 2021. Once you've cleaned up, protect with Rain or Shine SPF 50+ sunscreen, which is non-greasy, leaves no white residue, and is fragrance free. It's exactly what I look for: daily protection that doesn't smell like the beach or leave you feeling greasy. The entire line gets a big "Hell, yes!" from my face and wallet.
