OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. 14 PALOMA & CO'S BIG MOVE I nterior designer Jill Egan has opened a showroom and design studio in Rice Village as a very chic repository for custom furnishings, lighting, art, ceramics, and accessories available both to the public and trade. You'll find sumptuous alpaca throws, textured pillow covers, marble catchall bowls, and runners and napkins by local company KD Weave, which proudly employs Karenni refugee women and artisans with autism. Look for outside- the-box lighting crafted of marble and sandcast bronze by Studio Henry Wilson, sherpa poufs and alpaca rugs custom sizes, as well as bas reliefs from Lauren Collin in Paris and large-scale paintings by Tyler Buck Guinn of Austin. Jill Egan Interiors, 2532 Amherst St., jilleganinteriors.com. Anne Lee Phillips I nterior designer Paloma Contreras' shop Paloma & Co has a stylish new River Oaks Boulevard address, as well as increased square footage. Nearly four years after its debut, Paloma & Co has moved from its pint-sized bungalow to the spacious new location adjacent to Itsy Bitsy, Ann Mashburn, and À Bientôt. Contreras and her team organized the space to showcase collections of art, furniture, antiques, lighting, and accessories with a stunning backdrop of Iksel Xanadu Landscape wallpaper. The natural light beautifully showcases artworks, sized tiny to medium, from artists Sally Threlkeld, Kayce Hughes, Chris Brandell, and Sarah Ella Cole. "We are constantly on the hunt for new artists to add to the rotation," Contreras says. New offerings include Contreras' lighting collection for Visual Comfort, pottery and lighting by Christopher Spitzmiller, cocktail tables and trays from The Lacquer Company, and pottery by Giselle Hicks. Hostess gifts and tabletop essentials abound, from Louis Sherry chocolates in chic collabs (Schumacher, John Derian) to Carrière Frères and SOH Melbourne candles and cheeky dinner napkins from Chefanie.
