Cirque Surréaliste Janet & Paul Hobby François & Susan de Menil H igh Point: The Menil Collection's cache of premier Surrealist art set the stage for an otherworldly gala that found guests beneath a colorful big-top tent and then in a resplendent tented pavilion. The Events Company created the fantastical mise en scène, while Jackson & Company delivered a French- inspired menu. Takeaway: Five hundred Menil fans and patrons proved their loyalty with a record $2.5 million for the beloved museum. Gala co-chairs Linda and George Kelly and Cindy and David Fitch were major underwriters, along with acclaimed New York art dealer Larry Gagosian.
