NiIke X Tiffany & Co., launching March 7. B rother and sister Mario Tort and Vanessa Tort-Pagel opened Estilo Salon & Spa 12 years ago and have now added a new dimension to the brand: a home store. On Westheimer adjacent to the salon, Estilo Home offers furniture, decoratives, A LEGENDARY PAIR ESTILO AT HOME Y ou don't need a rodeo to justify a pair of Lizzy Chesnut Bentley's City Boots. But the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo was the impetus for the SMU grad to open a pop- up in River Oaks District showcasing her handmade boots, her third store following a boutique in Fort Worth then Dallas. Now through May 15, the City Boots collection is showcased in a salon created to deliver a bit of South Texas to River Oaks, designed by Lauren Wills Grover of Wills Design Associates. City Boots' elevated silhouettes and strong color palette has earned an ever-growing coterie of devotees, with the Houston Collection of five styles introduced at the Houston store before being available online. As Bentley says, "A cowboy boot is your most important accessory." City Boots, River Oaks District, 4444 Westheimer Road, cityboots.com. Shelby Hodge L ast year, two of Austin's longtime pioneers of cool joined forces. Larry McGuire's MMH (Perla's Seafood & Oyster Bar, Elizabeth Street Café, Josephine House) welcomed Liz Lambert (Hotel San José, Saint Cecilia) and officially became MML Hospitality. The partners' first major collaboration (along with MMH co-founder Tom Moorman) was the Hotel Saint Vincent, a 19th-century New Orleans infant asylum turned design-forward oasis attracting a starry clientele along Magazine Street. Now there's a stable of buzzy MML projects — several hotel and dining concepts have been quietly announced — extending the firm's unique vision well beyond Austin city limits. There's Mountain Chalet, a 1950s-built lodge at the base of Aspen Mountain (acquired for $68 million) to be preserved and rejuvenated by the MML team. Aspen recently welcomed the second Clark's Oyster Bar (Houston will receive the third) and a new concept, Las Montañas, offering elevated Tex-Mex at 7,910 feet. Of course, there's still plenty of MML magic in the works for Austin, a city whose modern image both Lambert and McGuire have helped define. The upcoming Sixth & Blanco development, located at the intersection of West Sixth and Blanco streets, will be designed by powerhouse Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron (it's their first project in Texas) and built from mass-timber, occupying a city block of existing shops and homes built in the 1920s. MML also announced that three new restaurants — Rosie's, Howard's, and Pecan Square Café — would join Swedish Hill and the original Clark's Oyster Bar, ensuring an aesthetic foothold along an evolving West Sixth Street. mmlhospitality.com. Caitlin Clark BOOT CAMP and clothing to create a well-traveled look. "Estilo means 'style' in Spanish," Tort says, "so we felt the name and brand could inhabit so many realms of beauty." The soothing, layered vibe comes from predominantly neutral-hued offerings in natural textures including white equipale chairs, Italian pottery by Arte Italica, terracotta bread warmers, chic linen trousers, seagrass rugs, woven baskets, and chicly jarred artisanal pickles, peppers, turmeric drinking vinegars, elderberry syrup, fruit preserves, olive oils and more.
