F our hundred color-blocked resin chairs — designed as part of a temporary installation by artist and architect Gaetano Pesce — made a splash at Bottega Veneta's Summer 2023 runway show in Milan last fall. Soon after, Pesce and his witty chairs dubbed Come Stai? made an appearance at Design Miami. Now, Bottega Veneta is Chair Man offering these vivid functional works of art for sale via its website. Each Come Stai? chair is unique, made from cotton canvas dipped in a spectrum of colored resins, some featuring hand drawings. The chairs are Pesce's tribute to cultural diversity — people come in different skin colors, yet we're all basically the same underneath. Come Stai? chairs, $6,500 to $10,900, at bottegaveneta.com. Rebecca Sherman C arla Muñoz has launched a Poliform store within her newly expanded CAM Studio, the showroom she established in 2018 in Upper Kirby that carries dozens of European furniture lines such as Minotti, Cappellini, and Living Divani. The 3,000-square-foot Poliform showroom is exclusive to Houston and features the Italian manufacturer's closets, kitchens, and furniture. To allow for the expansion, Muñoz acquired the space next door to CAM Studio, which Poliform's creative team designed. "It was a year in the making," says Muñoz. Poliform, founded in 1942, collaborates with such well-known designers as Rodolfo Dordoni, Jean-Marie Massaud, Marcel Wanders, Carlo Colombo, and Vincent Van Duysen, and is a family- run business headquartered in Brianza, a historical and cultural area near Lake Como where some of the world's most beautifully crafted furnishings originate. "For me, it's important to have brands that are family owned because it has their name on it — they carry the pride of their culture and the know-how of every product," Muñoz says.
