C atherine Osborne, a realtor at Allie Beth Allman, understands the ins and outs of Dallas more than most. The Dallas native and Highland Park graduate offers her clients the perspective and knowledge that only come from decades of calling a place home. "Dallas is really special," she says. "We have all the big-city excitement, from professional sports teams and world-class restaurants to a growing downtown scene and proximity to easy travel, but still maintain a friendly, everyone-knows-their-neighbor atmosphere in the Park Cities and surrounding neighborhoods. It's a unique juxtaposition that makes Dallas a great place to live." Growing up in the Park Cities, Catherine graduated from the University of Alabama with a double major in business administration and Spanish before returning to her roots to begin a busy career in corporate recruitment — an experience she says greatly impacted and enhanced her ability to connect with clients and listen to their needs. In just three years since earning her real estate license, she's recorded more than $40 million in sales — a sign she not only understands the markets but is able to make personal connections with each client and industry partner. Here, she shares her thoughts on today's unprecedented market, what she loves best about Dallas, and why relationships are key to everything she undertakes. Number of years in real estate and areas of expertise. CO: I've been working in and around Dallas' most coveted neighborhoods for more than three years, from the Park Cities, Devonshire, and Midway Hollow to Greenway Crest, West Highland Park, Lakewood, and Lake Highlands. Hottest up-and-coming neighborhood. CO: Midway Hollow is booming. Located just off Northwest Highway and Midway, this newly sought-after area is a great choice for any buyer, including first-time homebuyers and growing families. Real estate trend you're excited about. CO: Turfed backyards. Literally no one regrets a turfed space! Whether you're adding a putting green, replacing a traditional concrete pool deck, or eliminating grass, turf is always worth the investment. Bonus points if the turf is irrigated! Favorite part about living in Dallas. CO: I love the way Dallas feels like a small town right in the middle of a big city — especially in my hometown area of Highland Park. I can't go anywhere without running into someone I know. Also, I can't imagine living without the shopping here. Most-used room in your house. CO: I love our dining room, but the kitchen is a close second. My husband and I adore entertaining friends and family. I love designing the perfect tablescape for each occasion at my dining-room table, mixing tablecloths and place settings from my favorite design shop in Dallas, Blue Print, as well as antique treasures I've picked up on trips with my mom to Round Top over the years. Dallas restaurant you can't live without. CO: Can anyone live without Mi Cocina? My husband treats me to margaritas and queso each time I close a deal. It's a sweet tradition that I always look forward to. How are you finding homes in today's market? CO: The old-fashioned way: by picking up the phone and making calls. Connections and relationships are fundamental in the real estate industry, and everything we do is built on trust and reputation. Oftentimes, someone's dream home isn't sitting on the market, making it even more important to have an agent on your side who is willing to go above and beyond. Keys to concierge service. CO: I pride myself on working hard each day for my clients, and I'm constantly researching, networking, and staying in-the-know to provide the best client experience and outcomes possible. I'm also privileged and proud to partner with the city's top residential real estate brokerage, which only expands the opportunities I can offer my clients. At the end of the day, I want to connect my clients to a property and community that they're truly excited to call home.
