"I'm not a Texan, so I would never try to do a Texas interior. I used the environment as inspiration. It felt like a cabin in the woods with the little creek burbling behind, so that was the foundation for the design." — Alessandra Branca and Silestone counters pack a textured punch. "We played with black, white, and red," Branca says. The bedrooms are theatrically covered in Casa Branca prints and texture. The headboards are extra tall, due to the high ceilings and the height of its proprietors — nothing goes unnoticed by Branca. She left no detail untouched; even the closets are fully outfitted with wallpaper and light fixtures. In a nod to Italy meeting Texas, "Ciao y'all" is embroidered on Peacock Alley boudoir pillows in the bedrooms, one covered in a textured Animal Kingdom wallpaper at Cone and Fourticq's request, the other papered in Jaipur Fiore, both showing that more is more when a design oracle like Branca mixes patterns. Once the spring antiques and design show was over, the shopping crowds dispersed, the tents in the fields were dismantled, and life in Round Top resumed, the Branca Bungalow at Red Antler became available for booking. 69
