OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. I n the June issue of PaperCity, we printed an incorrect price for the Hästens Grand Vividus bed. The actual price is $670,000. Hästens, 4433 McKinney Ave., hastens.com. R etail: It seems like all the Monopoly-like moves occurring in the Dallas fashion boutique world are finally slowing down. Over the past few months, we've shared news of the openings in NorthPark Center (Prada, coming 2024; Gucci, soon to open their expanded outpost) and Highland Park Village (Balmain and the first stand-alone Texas locations for Brioni, Simkhai, and Loewe, opening this fall). Watch for more updates in our big September issue. Epicurious: Our friends at Duro Hospitality (El Carlos Elegante, Sister, Café Duro, The Charles) have launched a monthly wine subscription service, Duro Wine Club, as well as a concierge-style neighborhood wine experience inside Café Duro. Duro Wine Shop explores artisanal wines through tastings, release parties, and more. Given the intoxicating selection at Duro Hospitality's restaurants, a wine club makes sense; the service is only in its genesis phase, however, so right now it's local pickup only … Every great metropolis needs markets where we can breeze in with OOPS a Chanel bouclé jacket draped over our shoulders, grab a basket, and fill it with jams from obscure New England producers and an impressive bottle of vino. Fig & Favor, developed by Harwood Hospitality Group, is one of those markets. The cozy 1,000-square-foot space is nestled in quaint La Rue Purdue near sister establishments Harwood Arms, Poco Fiasco, and Elephant East. Grab crafted sandwiches and fresh salads for your crew back at the office, steak and jerky from the district's in-house HWD Beef program, and a full assortment of espressos. Staycations: Speaking of Duro concepts, if you can't make it to Europe in the coming months, book a suite at Casa Duro, which we've affectionately dubbed Little Italy on Lower Greenville. We suggest the Marcia, a one-bedroom apartment, which includes two full baths, a study with double daybed, full kitchen, living room, Juliet balcony off the living room, and a dining room that seats eight. The spacious dining area is perfect for inviting friends over for a dinner catered by Sister restaurant, located down below … Or consider Hall Arts Hotel and secure a reservation at Ellie's Restaurant, where chef Anthony Hsia has created another brilliant seasonal menu. Before your meal, take part in one of the hotel's art tours (Thursday through Saturday, 4:30 to 5:30 pm). This newly launched program, exclusively for hotel guests, is led by an experienced curator and finishes with a wine tasting at Ellie's. Summer Fun: One of our favorite ways to wile away a summer afternoon is a stroll through the 66 verdant acres of the Dallas Arboretum. They've donned their seasonal look with 65,000 new plantings. Check out artist Gary Lee Price's exhibit "Great Contributors," where you'll find sculptures of historical figures including Harriet Tubman, Mother Teresa, and Albert Einstein (through August 6) … If you'd rather beat the heat and stay indoors, secure tickets for Meow Wolf at Grapevine Mills Mall (opening Friday, July 14). "The Real Unreal," an immersive 29,000-square-foot experience, is a psychedelic art wonderland with an underlying story, created by more than 60 collaborating artists (including Dallas favorite Dan Lam) with 70 installations, wondrous rooms, portals to open your mind, and wormholes layered with interactivity. Social: For once, we have nothing to report for your Smythson day planner. Your Buzzy Bee just plans to toss a pair of Tom Ford floral trousers in a weekend bag for a clambake in East Hampton. See you in September, when the charity scene kicks back into party mode.
