amFABULOUS A nd voilà, Dallas has one more sparkly affair to add to its annual roster of sparkly affairs. Last year, we bid adieu to the beloved TWO x TWO Gala with its final call to the tent on the grounds of Rachofsky House — but then amfAR said they wanted to come back in a new incarnation. So, this year, Todd Events picked up the ball and produced an enchanting evening on the grounds of Kathleen and Scott Kirby's Preston Hollow estate, with headliner Diana Ross. The host couple welcomed more than 400 well-heeled guests to the event, which raised $3.1 million. Since 1985, amfAR (The Foundation for AIDS Research) has raised close to $950 million through fundraising initiatives and star-studded galas spanning the globe, from Cannes to Palm Beach and, of course, Dallas. It's one of the world's unwavering nonprofits dedicated to the support of AIDS research and HIV prevention, education, and advocacy. Given that it was created in the mid-1980s by a group that included Elizabeth Taylor, it has long been supported by marquee stars. This recent night in October in Dallas was no exception, with Teri Hatcher, Nicole Kidman, Taylor Sheridan, and Ian Bohen (who, I must say, is the most dashing screen idol I've seen in person in a long time) all in attendance. Since TWO x TWO supported the Dallas Museum of Art as well, there was a strong connection to the visual arts, and this new iteration had a sports-related thread. In addition to the presence of chic couple Jason Kidd (Dallas Mavericks head coach) and Porschla Kidd, Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki presented amfAR's Philanthropic Leadership Award to the Gene and Jerry Jones Family. Accepting the accolade on behalf of the Dallas football dynasty were some of the youngest family members: Haley Anderson, Caroline Jones Moldawer, Chambers Jones, Jessica Donnell, and Jordan Jones Munoz. Awards-season red-carpet fashion favorite and longtime amfAR supporter Nicole Kidman presented the Award of Inspiration to her friend Taylor Sheridan, the producer of Kidman's show Lioness. Sheridan has become a bit of a North Texas local in the last few years, given his purchase of the 6666 and Bosque ranches and filming his TV show Landman in our backyard. A highlight of the night was when Taylor surprised guests with two auction lots that included a set visit, walk-on role, and a meet-and-greet with the cast from one of his iconic shows. Fashion stars that evening included TWO x TWO founders/internationally renowned art collectors Cindy and Howard Rachofsky; Forty Five Ten co-creative directors Robin Wilkes and Kyle Branch; Christen Wilson in an ode to mid-century glam, a brocaded Huishan Zhang cocktail frock; Kara Goss in a Sirapop sequined sheath dress; Abi Perpall; Annika Cail; designers Jan Showers and Javier Burkle; Grange Hall's Rajan Patel; Nickki St. George, who attended with her friend Teri Hatcher; Megan Delgado; Pete West; Joyce Goss; Wendy and Bill Payne; Luis Araujo; Lisa Arpey; Moll and Charlie Anderson; Amy Green, Ramiro Garcia; Pablo Arellano; and Mason McCleskey. And, best-dressed boy? That would be Vito Cammisano, giving Landman and Johnny Cash "Man in Black" vibes in an iridescent Comme des Garçons black suit with a black Stetson hat. By Billy Fong.
