Kelly Wearstler has designed her first piano, Timbra, in collaboration with Edelweiss, the renowned British atelier that has created bespoke pianos for her interior projects for years. Handcrafted in Cambridge from natural layers of birchwood veneer, the rounded, rimless grand piano is built around wave- like contours that evoke the movement of sound itself; a six-spruce soundboard and patented welded-steel frame ensure the acoustics are as uncompromising as the form. It comes in five translucent finishes (natural, burgundy, sage green, blue, and gray), each chosen to reveal the intricate grain of the wood.
