OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. M aking its debut l a t e r t h i s y e a r is the one we've all been waiting for: The Knox Hotel & R e s i d e n c e s , Auberge Collection. The visionaries behind this striking pinnacle along the Katy Trail in the Knox Street neighborhood, which will have 140 rooms and 48 luxury residences, are BDT & MSD Partners, Highland Park Village Associates, Trammell Crow Company, and The Retail Connection. London designer Martin Brudnizki will deliver the hotel's interior spaces, including four restaurants and bars, and Dallas interior designer Chad Dorsey will handle the interiors of the residences. Taking over a rare four- acre site at 2500 Cedar Springs Road between Fairmont and Routh, the upcoming Proper Hotel & Residences from Proper Hospitality is a chic mélange of design, wellness, food, and community. Set to open in From top: Drawing room at The Knox Hotel, Auberge Collection. Dallas Proper Hotel lobby. 2029, the sleek structure is topped with a 34-story tower developed by Lincoln Property Company and designed by architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) with interiors from design diva Kelly Wearstler. Locals will flock to the music lounge inspired by Austin Proper's Quill Room, located in the 6,000-square- foot Proper Club and the hotel's holistically inclined 15,000-square-foot wellness center. With 80 branded residences and penthouses in addition to the 200 guest rooms and suites, three restaurants and five lounges, the Proper may become both home and home away from home for lucky Uptowners. Also towering over the neighborhood will be the recently announced Monclaire Hotel and Residences, a 165,000-square- foot mixed-use tower at the corner of Cedar Springs and Maple Avenue, from Robert Colombo and Brian Garcia of Ivy P3 Group and Horizon Capital Partners. With interiors inspired by timeless luxury — polished marble, wood paneling, a grand lobby with spiral staircase — the Monclaire offers 15 to 20 ultra-exclusive residences with butler service and 60 to 65 spacious hotel rooms. This modernist-meets- French château-style tower by Nunzio Marc DeSantis Architects is expected to open early 2030. Kaizen Development Partners and Douglas Elliman Real Estate recently announced that Edition Hotel, Marriott's luxury brand, is the five- star hotel and residential brand partner of Chalk Hill — a new mixed-use development in Uptown Dallas at 3031 North Harwood (in the former KERA space), with 400,000 square feet of office space, the 214-room Dallas Edition Hotel, 60 Residences at The Dallas Edition, retail, and restaurants across two architecturally distinct towers. The Dallas Edition Hotel is the brand's first foray into Texas. Edition, conceived by Ian Schrager in partnership with Marriott International, has locations from New York to Madrid to Singapore. The Dallas Stunning Stays on the Way Dallas will soon be spoiled with four luxurious new hotels and a grand refurbishment of another. As the city grows, developers are meeting the moment with stylish stays slated to debut over the next few years.
