F or designer Dan Fink, whose work ranges from private homes in Silicon Valley to hospitality projects in New York and California, it's the residential high-rise that raises a particularly philosophical question. "The challenge is how to give it a sense of soul," he says, speaking by phone from his offices inside Manhattan's iconic Fuller Building. "It's very easy for these spaces to become too minimal or too contemporary."
