Rose Lucchese & Lela N ot all parties are created equal, a n d c e r t a i n invitations are worth shuffling your schedule for. When Lela Rose is the sender, I clear mine. Such it was on a recent stormy night, when Lela and Lucchese held an elegant dinner at The Pump House on the property of Lela's mother, philanthropist Deedie Rose — an art space that was once an actual pump station supplying water to Highland Park. The occasion was the imminent launch, days later, of a dazzling collaboration between Lela and Lucchese with Western wear, boots, and belts. Each piece is named after a bird, nodding to Rose's lifelong passion for ornithology, and three limited-edition boot styles center the collection. Guests had clearly popped into Lela Rose's Highland Park Village store earlier in the day to outfit themselves for the night. Serracinna Studios designed the cascading table decor, while Art 2 Catering understood the assignment serving wagyu taco on blue corn tortilla, red snapper topped with a goat cheese tamale, and warm Gala apple crisp and cinnamon ice cream served in cast-iron skillets. No one hosts quite like Lela Rose.
