SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BLUE I n the spirit of something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, Prada introduces the Made To Order Décolleté collection. Choose from nine styles with five heel heights — from peep-toe for a garden wedding to classic pumps for black-tie cosmopolitan nuptials. If a white satin silhouette isn't quite your style, add some pop with a splash of color. Customize the sole in robin's-egg blue, and add your new initials in gold just above the Prada logo. From $745, for store availability, prada.com. Their collaboration began in 2010 when Valli approached the French candle maker about creating a signature bougie that would be exclusively sold in his shop on the Boissy d'Anglas in the 8th Arrondissement. The result was Rose Poivrée ($95), evoking Marie Antoinette's devotion to the flower. Its success prompted yet another candle collaboration to correspond with the launch of Valli's bridal gown collection: Positano ($95), named for the village on the Amalfi coast. Top notes of gardenia, neroli and bergamot give way to a heart of orange blossom, jasmine and magnolia, finally revealing a base of tuberose, Peruvian balsam and lily. What better way to fan the flames. $95 each, at Grange Hall; ciretrudon.com. Seth Vaughan Ashley Woodson Bailey's Alter, 2014 S aying "yes" to the dress has never been easier. Enter Binzario Couture at 1920 N. Haskell Avenue, where a bride's dream dress is turned into a reality. With more than 20 years of design experience under their belts, life partners Luis Nazario and Andre Yabin have been busier than ever at their custom bridal boutique. "Our desire is to please the bride in every way possible," says Yabin. "Every gown is one- of-kind, specific to the bride's taste and body type. We give our professional suggestions, but ultimately it's what she wants." Customers can work with the designers to create a bespoke gown, from the detail on the bodice to custom embroidery and lace. All Binzario needs is about five months before the wedding to design and create. Nearly everything is made in- house by Yabin, Nazario and a team of expert seamstresses. The average gown — which requires 40 to 50 hours of labor — begins at $3,500, depending on the fabrics and custom work. Binzario also specializes in custom veils and headpieces. "We're not mass-producing gowns," Yabin says. "We cater to the bride for a unique experience." And, if a bride wishes to turn something old into something new, Binzario's team can alter and restyle mother's or grandmother's vintage wedding dress. As for the bride who wants to sell or buy a gently used designer dress, Binzario also showcases consigned luxury wedding gowns. Think Monique Lhuillier, Marchesa and Carolina Herrera, to name a few. And, of course, Yabin and Nazario haven't forgotten about the men: Binzario can create custom accessories for grooms and groomsmen including ascots, pocket squares and ties. Holly Moore Brides-to-be can now put a ring on it — or at least virtually try one on for size — via the Tiffany & Co. Engagement Ring Finder app. Wonder how a Tiffany sparkler might look on your finger — perhaps a cushion-cut emerald or a colored gem in a classic solitaire? Browse through the venerable jeweler's inventory, snap a pic of your hand and virtually try on your favorite style, then share your selection with your groom-to-be. Unsure of your size? Place one of your own rings on your iPhone screen to determine the perfect fit. Once you've found "the one," schedule an appointment at your local Tiffany & Co. boutique, or receive a consultation by phone or email. The app even helps you share the good news with your loved ones digitally. Free download, at the iTunes Store.
