A grand new Tenenbaum Jewelers store is on the horizon. After 10 years at its current location at 1801 Post Oak Boulevard, the jeweler is building a stunning new store at Westheimer and Mid Lane, adjacent to River Oaks District. At more than 6,000 square feet, the two-level store is double the size of the Post Oak Boulevard location. Look for a summer 2016 opening … Nina McLemore has opened her first Houston store at 1965 West Gray in River Oaks Shopping Center. Expect well-tailored power dressing for women. After all, Nina calls Hilary Clinton, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan and former New Jersey governor Christine Todd clients. The store, her 15th, celebrates its launch Wednesday, December 2, with an opening party from 4 to 7 pm … Coming Soon: Joining Cartier, Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford and more, St. Tropez-born label Vilebrequin opens its first Houston store this fall in River Oaks District at 4444 Westheimer Road. The 600-square-foot boutique embodies the Mediterranean vibe, with a summer-driven palette and a full scope of signature men's, kids and women's swimsuits and resort togs. M an's best friend figures prominently with Max Mara this fall as the brand revisits its 50th anniversary photography series from William Wegman: "Dogs in Coats." Wegman's Weimaraners, Man Ray and Fay Ray, are held in high esteem by art collectors; their images are in permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, among others. First commissioned in 2001, the exhibit is a nod to Max Mara's iconic 101801 cashmere coat. This fall, 30 limited-edition coats (as seen on Wegman's infamous pups) will be produced to coincide with a 10-city tour of the original exhibit. Max Mara 101801 coat $2,990, available now at the Max Mara boutique. Francine Ballard F inally … the December issue is shipping to the printer. It's been a long four months — August through November is when we produce September through December issues in two cities, while feeding stories and photographs to an always hungry website. This fall, PaperCity co-hosted or was media sponsor of 107 events in both cities with our wonderful advertising partners. Our social departments in Houston and Dallas, with reinforcements from editors, attended 164 charitable galas and holiday cocktail parties and sifted through thousands of party pictures, which were nipped and tucked and color-corrected. It's dizzying but joyous. We will soon spill out of the offices in both cities to travel and rest. I'll head to the farm outside Fayetteville, which is a tiny hamlet but so twinkling and festive with lights and decorations. Extended family will be staying in Joan Herring's Market Street Inn near the square in Fayetteville, which has to be the single most beautiful and charming B&B I have ever seen. (Book it through blackbirdfarmtexas.com.) Thanksgiving dinner (as of this writing, it's next week — yikes!) will be next door to my farm, in my brother's barn, with hundreds of twinkling lights, hay bales and one long table set for 22 people. The turkeys, stuffing, cranberry relish et al., will be ferried over in ATVs and Reggie the golf cart. On the eve of shipping this issue filled with so much joy, Paris — home to so many of our fashion designers, jewelry ateliers and to so many innocent men, women and children — was attacked. Our Thanksgiving prayers will be for our many friends in Paris, and for a nation so unfairly under siege. Que Dieu bénisse la France et tous les Français. A s the year comes to a close, it's hard to believe that 2015 is almost behind us. The old adage "The days are long while the years are short" rings so true. With busy days and endless parties, this year sped past at lighting speed. It's been a wonderful time for PaperCity magazine. We have achieved monumental milestones this year with our September, October and November issues being the largest in the 22-year history of PaperCity. This is a true testament to our thriving city and our supporters. But while we still have this month left until we hit the reset button, we should celebrate. The month kicks off with the always fabulous holiday parties at Past Era, Tenenbaum Jewelers and Zadok Jewelers, to name a few. Don't miss the chance to buy some last minute baubles. On Thursday, December 17, PaperCity is excited to host what will be a beautiful holiday event at the new de Boulle boutique in River Oaks District. It is the second location for the family- owned jeweler, and we're thrilled to welcome them to the market. We cannot wait to come together with friends and family to celebrate this holiday season and hope you do the same. What a year it's been, and we are all so thankful. Happy holidays from all of us at PaperCity!
