DECORATION D allas-based Interior and furniture designer Jan Showers is poised to launch an extensive collection for Kravet Couture this month, with a lineup of her signature glamorous furniture that includes 16 silhouettes for sofas and chairs inspired by vintage pieces discovered during her European travels. Sleek and curvaceous details include bronze, brass and gold metals, along with lightweight faux concrete and animal-friendly faux- leather wrapping. Up next? Stroud is known for elegant weddings, celebrity events and movie premieres, with clients such as Jon Bon Jovi, Alicia Keyes, and Michael Bloomberg. Opening date is Friday, April 15 … Ken Kehoe of Ken Kehoe & Co. moves his showroom from The Houston Design Center on Old Katy Road to Decorative Center Houston on Sage, opening in June on the second floor in 6,100 square feet and carrying such lines as China Seas, Quadrille, Casadeco de Paris, Whistler Leather of London, Oly and John Saladino Fabrics … Also at Decorative Center Houston, Holland & Sherry moves into the former Bernardaud space on the first floor, with a mid-April opening date. DESIGN BUZZ Innovative Germany-based outdoor- furniture company Dedon opens its first Texas showroom in Decorative Center Houston in May — part of a national rollout that includes Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Miami. Founded in 1990, Dedon is now represented in more than 80 countries, with skilled rattan artisans on the island of Cebu in the Philippines expertly weaving Dedon's high-tech synthetic fibers — a combination of new-world technology with old-world craftsmanship that has revolutionized outdoor furniture and made the company's woven tables and chairs iconic. Dedon is also known for collaborating with designers such as Philippe Starck and Jean-Marie Massaud to produce fresh looks. For spring, Dedon has launched four new collections, including lounge seating by modular design master Toan Nguyen, who recently created a contemporary collection for Fendi Casa. Floating on hidden gliders for mobility, Nguyen's pieces can be massed into an endless landscape of bent, snaking and semicircular configurations. To the trade. Rebecca Sherman WOVEN WONDERS A new design festival launches next month (May 18 – 22) in New Orleans along Magazine Street, titled Southern Style Now. Top-notch designers have been booked for the programming, which includes keynotes, panel discussions, book signings, cocktail and dinner parties, exhibitions and the Southern Style Now Showhouse. It's the brainchild of Robert Leleux, former Domino editor and Lonny managing editor, writer and designer (whose lush Southern Style Now tome, photographed by Brittany Ambridge, will be published by Abrams in September 2016). The lineup includes an Opening Night Gala for the Southern Style Now Showhouse presented by Traditional Home, where the first annual Gerrie Bremermann Award for Lifetime Achievement in Interior Design will be presented to Gerrie Bremermann by Bunny Williams and Shaun Smith.
