40 D utch furniture company Eichholtz — a popular exhibitor at Maison et Objet in Paris and Milan — is Hallo, Oroa! H istoric Savile Row fabric house Holland & Sherry has been known for its fine cloths for men's bespoke suiting since 1836. More than 160 years later, enterprising young Holland & Sherry intern Bryan Dicker peddled the suit fabric swatches around Manhattan to interior design firms in a creative effort to increase sales. Designers embraced the concept, and a few years later Holland & Sherry Interiors was born. What started with a fabric kiosk in New York's D&D building has expanded significantly, with HQ in Peebles, Scotland, and 15 showrooms worldwide. Dicker now serves as president, and a stunning new showroom in Decorative FROM SAVILE ROW WITH LOVE K en Kehoe is still expanding his CV, after more than 20 years in the interior design biz. Client consultations, ground-up construction, custom furniture designer, showroom owner … You name it, it's on his list. This fall, he opened his relocated showroom in a 6,000-square- foot space on the second floor of Decorative Center Houston. Gleaming white walls provide the ideal backdrop for more than 70 marquee and indie lines, including Gracie hand-painted wall coverings; Million Dollar Decorators star Kathryn M. Ireland fabrics and furniture; preppy-perfect Quadrille and China Seas fabrics and wallpapers; and British mainstay Best & Lloyd lighting. Local design names include Rusty Arena rugs and Kelly Gale Amen furniture and fabrics. New-to-Houston names include Hamptons-based Root Cellar Designs fabric and wallpaper; seating from Catbird Collection, with furniture by Bobby McAlpine and Susan Ferrier; and lighting by designer cult fave Coleen & Company. Anne Lee Phillips The HOUSE of KEHOE finally available stateside, distributed by Oroa, a new retail store in River Oaks District. Oroa boutique co- owner and Netherlands-born Gabby Kloeke frequently used Eichholtz in interior design projects in her native country. She partnered with French project developer Roman Rotges to bring the brand to the U.S., first in Coral Gables in Miami, followed by Houston. Eichholtz is known for a glamorous European aesthetic, from metallic sputnik chandeliers to velvet sofas, rugs, mirrors, and accessories, as well as an impressive outdoor collection of sun chaises, loungers, daybeds and cabanas. In addition to their fine linen and wool fabrics, Holland & Sherry Interiors offers custom embroidery, handmade rugs, wall coverings, leather, trim, lighting, and hardware. The new showroom, headed by Micah Spaniel, adheres to the age-old Savile Row tradition of offering customers a nip of scotch or shot of espresso while they shop — a handsomely outfitted bar is hidden behind a secret door of carpet samples.
