26 HAPPY GROOVY BIRTHDAY, BABY! By Jane Rozelle. Photography Cameron Clark, Rebecca Marie, John Cain Sargent. A ndy Warhol's prophetic 15-minutes quote will resonate with anyone who has met Paige Chenault, CEO and founder of The Birthday Party Project. The powerhouse behind the nonprofit that hosts birthday parties for homeless children has made hundreds of kiddos feel famous — hosting more than 3,500 parties to date. For the organization's own fifth birthday, who better to honor than ultimate party planner, Todd Fiscus, who was celebrating a big-five birthday of his own. The over-the-top soirée at Deep Ellum music venue The Bomb Factory reflected its '60s theme with go-go boots, bobs, and Union Jacks aplenty as guests walked the metallic runway through a confetti-colored entrance and into the concert hall, which was transformed into a disco-ball delight. Studio 54 vibes were in force, with socials disguised as Lou Reed (Jason Seely), Austin Powers (Carson Hall) and his Mod Girl (Megan Hall), Hugh Hefner (Walter Clarke) and his Lichtenstein gal (Emily Clarke) on the dance floor. Honoree and birthday boy Fiscus, a devoted supporter of The Birthday Party Project, channeled Andy Warhol, gettin' wiggy wit it on the dance floor, while husband Ceron and their power team showed up as the Mod Squad. A rather stylish Pan Am flight crew (Missy and Tim Peck, Becca Quisenberry, Beth and Rob Rogers) made the rounds, and event chairs Katy Taylor and Sam Jacobson brought their own spin to the night as Yoko Ono and John Lennon. After a boisterous live auction, disco queens fluttered to the stage for the ultimate dance party alongside Jordan Kahn's Taylor Pace Orchestra, and vibrant dueling DJs Jennifer Miller and Andy Austin spun tunes from DJ booths that channeled Warhol Campbell's soup cans. When all was said and done, a half-million dollars was raised. Until next time, we shall strive to live out The Birthday Party Project's motto: Eat. Sleep. Party. Repeat!
