30 SHOPPING, SUPERHERO STYLE By Jane Rozelle. Photography George Fiala. O ne sound sums up The Family Place's annual Partners Card event: cha-ching! During the 10- day charitable retail extravaganza — for every Partners Card sold, The Family Place provides one night of shelter — the fervor to swipe hits an all-time high. Making the magic happen for the year that just wrapped up were The Family Place's CEO Paige Flink; Partners Card co-founders Sally Hoglund and Sally Johnson; and chairs Elizabeth Dacus, Samantha Wortley, and yours truly. More than 750 stores and restaurants participated, el- evating the funds raised throughout Partners Card's 24-year history to more than $17 million. Throughout the year, The Family Place throws one bash after another to engage the community in the campaign. First up was a kickoff party at Galleria Dallas, where TFP debuted its Shop Like a Hero theme and announced the year's honorary chair Lisa Cooley. Next, it was off to IBB Design Fine Furnishings, where co-owners Shay Geyer and Beth Rafferty hosted friends and participants during the North Seller Soirée. A few weeks later, Parisian candle maker Diptyque and British handbag boutique Longchamp hosted a moveable South Seller Soirée at NorthPark Center. With Partners Card 2016 all wrapped up, we ventured to Bungalow 5 where showroom manager Tyler Sweatman and his team hosted a celebratory party. Drumroll, please: Thanks to the 24th annual campaign, more than 15,000 nights of shelter were provided to women, men, and children in need. Bidding adieu to year 24, it's onward and upward with a silver an- niversary on the horizon. With chairs Brynn Bagot Allday and Jennifer Burns leading the charge, this year's Partners Card should be spectacular.
