T iger Ball unfurled at Asia Society Texas Center as a lavish international fĂȘte. Co-chairs Kathy and Glen Gondo, Helene and Stephen Le, and Sultana and Moez Mangalji crafted an impeccable night of food, music, and dance that bowed to the East. The ball honored Sylvia and Gordon Quan and recognized Theresa and Peter Chang as honorary chairs. Architect Yoshio Taniguchi's gleaming temple of a building was turned into a party palace by Bergner and Johnson for 600-plus gala-goers. The tented Chevron Gala Pavilion served as a Taj Mahal arrival zone, festooned with Indian gates, traditional lanterns, and exotic lounging areas, with the dramatic exhibition "Clusters of Memory" by Chinese artist Zheng Chongbin, on view. The museum was transformed into a series of private dining rooms, where City Kitchen served a fusion dinner. Afterwards, DJ Chad on the turntable turned the dance floor into a sea of saris, ball gowns, tuxes, and tunics. A GRAND GLOBAL GALA BENEFITS ASIA SOCIETY TEXAS CENTER.
