40 A FASHIONABLE LAUNCH TO THE SEASON SHELBY HODGE READS HER LINES. PHOTOGRAPHY EMILE C. BROWNE. W ith yummy sweaters, must-have jackets and perfect plaids lining the shelves of J. McLaughlin in River Oaks Shopping Center, the stage was set for a fall fĂȘte. This one benefited Stages Repertory Theatre, whose staff moved into the company's new state- of-the-art facilities, The Gordy, in late September; the curtain won't go up on the much-anticipated new stage, however, until January. So important was the evening that J.McLaughlin execs from New York jetted in for the festivities: Josh Bell, Blair Beal, and Olivia Willcox. They were in for a treat: Armandos' signature red taco truck was parked outside the door, which meant margaritas, taquitos, and empanadas aplenty. WHO: Stages artistic director Kenn McLaughlin and managing director Mark Folkes; J. McLaughlin store manager Kim Stern, district manager Jana Brosseau, and district manager of the New York metro area Tyler May; plus Sally Edmundson, George Lancaster, Jo and Jim Furr, Laurann Claridge, Sandra Porter, Judy and Jim Nicklos, Kristi and Martin Gollwitzer, Michele Ramsey, Leila Perrin, Cherri Carbonara, Lauren Fisher, and Christopher Johnston.
