PAPERCITY PROMOTION and Wining at Côtes du Coeur for American Heart Association H earts were captured at this year's Côtes du Coeur, hosted b y t h e D a l l a s division of the American Heart Association at the Omni Dallas Hotel. This year's gala — one of the largest wine auctions in the Southwest — brought 900 oenophiles and foodies to tears as guest of honor Sean Kirby and his parents, Open Your Heart chairs Kathleen and Scott Kirby, described how Sean had experienced a stroke at age four — a sudden and unexpected adversity that revealed a congenital heart defect. While Sean undeniably stole the show, other key moments during the evening chaired by Rick and Trisha Allen included the five-course dinner created by some of Dallas' greatest chefs (Eric Dreyer, Kent Rathbun, John Tesar, Dan Landsberg, Gerard Thompson, Janice Provost, Richard Chamberlain, and Luciano Salvadore) and the live auction steeped with covetable wine offerings, as well as a 20-person suite at Morgan Wallen's One Night At A Time Tour and a seven-day Adriatic sail for two aboard a chartered super yacht. Entertainment throughout the night included Hunter Sullivan and the Jordan Kahn Music Company. With countless bottles emptied and more than $4.1 million raised, festivities moved to the ballroom next door for the after-party, with dancing, late-night confections, and a portrait station with The Original Butt Sketch World Tour — a perfectly playful ending to a poignant and successful night.
