THE XX (Continued) T he Fall 2024 Round Top Antiques & Design Show — October 12 through 26 at The Halles — sees the eighth iteration of the PaperCity and Round Top Publishers event space and design, art, fashion, and foodie Mecca in autumn glory, with its nine Halles, hospitality pavilion, and enclosed spaces filled with unique purveyors and exciting happenings. Kudos to returning presenting sponsor JennAir — The Halles Food Lab by JennAir, joined by new presenting sponsor Budget Blinds of Giddings and new partnering sponsors Cowboy Pools, Starred Sky for its development Tree Tops at Round Top, and Tupelo Goods. (Cowboy Pools and Tupelo Goods are two of the standard- bearers of the latest Halles addition, The Austin Pavilion — more below). Plenty of wonderful foodie options abound to add sustenance and cheer and invite lingering between rounds of shopping. Round Top Coffee Shop returns with its popular Halles outpost, offering breakfast, bites, and a kick of java to jumpstart your day. Country Sunshine continues its down-home fare, plus a full array of drinks from the bar. Owners Danny and Cullen Holle's famous Neapolitan- style pizza crafted in a wood-fired Forno Bravo oven is another foodie fave. Have no guilt about pizza or burger consumption: The Halles is the only venue in town with its own fitness guru/ personal trainer — work out or book a session in The Halles Gym with founder/director Zuzana Kastleman. Double D Ranch's Western Outpost Comes to The Halles Just in: Iconic Texas-founded Western fashion and home-design brand Double D Ranch opens a permanent brick-and-mortar at Halle 3, setting up shop beginning with the Fall Antiques & Design Show. This will be the company's third location, after its original Lone Star store in Yoakum (the mothership) and second flagship in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Shop DDR's dramatic Western looks for women, informed by fringe, intricate buttons, and lush materials, as well as DDR Heritage Collection items and vintage, antique finds. (Aerosmith's Steven Tyler is a fan of the label, which includes embellished biker jackets for your own rock-star style.) Don't miss this store's biggest draw: the Big Ol' Boot Room, boasting the company's most extensive in-person boot collection yet. Double D Ranch Cowboy Pools Jordan Geibel Art BRITTANY HALLBERG Designer Destination Round Top regular Verona Disdier's permanent shop at The Halles — a dramatic year-round showroom for her signature Pierre Verona — features Mother Nature's art. Stunning vessels, furniture, accessories, and original lapidary art are honed from minerals and gems retrieved from her personal quarries in Mexico; these finds become statement pieces around which entire rooms can be imagined. Designers also flock to Crystal Nichols as a go-to source for alluring antique and mid-century modern furniture and lighting. One of The Halles' most unique creatives is Around the Bend, presenting artisan Rick Pratt's American-made willow furniture. Then there's retro-cool Found Images, imprinted on all manner of home goods. New Halles home-design destination Nate & Lane offers handcrafted outdoor beds and swings. In The Austin Pavilion, find Cowboy Pools' round stock-tank swimming pools, so perfect for your Round Top ranch or barndominium; modern, minimalist, ergonomic furniture by Tupelo Goods; Broderie Studio's sustainable pillows and bedding upcycled from chic reclaimed fashion- industry textiles; and get your caftan fix on with Upcycled Atelier's pre-loved caftans and textiles. Regarding textile art, beeline to Anadol Rug Co., celebrating 40 years as a manufacturer and importer of handmade Angora Ushak/Oushak rugs. These masterpiece rugs are all about Turkish artisans, crafted from natural materials colored with organic dyes, and wool purchased from native herdsmen, hand-spun and woven by local villagers. For sustainable building, check in or check out The Halles Casitas, a partnership with Hive3D Builders. The future is now for one of the most exciting innovations in home-construction technology in our time.
