OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. Bouquets + Banquets: Claire Rosen at Koslov Larsen W e last covered P e n n s y l v a n i a a r t i s t C l a i r e R o s e n t h r e e years ago, when h e r F l e m i s h - i n f l u e n c e d tablescapes made their Texas debut at Koslov Larsen gallery (at that time, known as Foto Relevance). Now the museum-area art space unfurls the group show "Earthly Delights," which has as its centerpiece, Rosen's Fantastical Feasts series, joined by her Baroque- and 19th-century-inspired still lifes. The lushly photographed still lifes convey beauty, gravitas, and the transience of time, while the Fantastical Feasts elicit delight, as well as environmental statements via their cast of whimsical fauna. Rosen's dinner parties — starring hedgehogs, honeybees, ostriches, turtles, elephants, Shetland ponies, and bears gathered around long, long banquet tables à la Leonardo da Vinci's The Last Supper — were among the hits of this spring's AIPAD The Photography Show when they were showcased in the prestigious photo f a i r 's M o n u m e n t a l section at Manhattan's Park Avenue Armory. Unframed, $1,750 to $8,000; framed, $2,150 to $13,500. Exhibition through October 18, on view through November 2; koslovlarsen.gallery. Catherine D. The official celebration of the museum's centennial will salute the era when doors opened on what would eventually become the Caroline Wiess Law Building. The Frances Marzio, Alfred & Clare Glassell at MFAH Ball, 2000 The MFAH is Having a Ball evening celebrates the museum's history with several surprises in store, including a retrospective video prepared by The Events Company. Since its founding in 1924, the MFAH has grown across 14 acres, acquired 80,000 works of art from around the globe, and developed more than $2 billion in assets. The museum's Susan and Fayez S. Sarofim Campus hosts three main gallery buildings: the Audrey Jones Beck Building, the Caroline Wiess Law Building, and the Nancy and Rich Kinder Building. Black-and- white striped awnings, topiaries, and two oversize custom black Regency double doors laced with brass rosettes invite guests and The New Noeka Home is a Cozy Showhouse clients into a shoppable showhouse. "We want to provide an engaging, inspiring, and memorable shopping experience," Bangs says. Open to both retail and the trade, customers can shop more than 20 French and Grand Millennial style vignettes (fully outfitted with wallpaper from Gracie, Thibaut, and Schumacher) with upholstery and case goods from classic home brands Hickory White, Lillian August, Highland House, Modern History, Port 68, Villa & House, Chelsea House, and Eichholtz. For the house label of custom furniture and pillows, Bangs — who is originally from New Orleans — found inspiration in French Gustavian antiques. The Noeka Home collection of pillows was born out of Bangs' wish list as a designer: pillows she wished she could have immediate retail access to for projects. The showroom also stocks art, mirrors, classic accessories, and charming hostess gifts. The interior design studio, with a cozy Parisian-style wine bar, has a space dedicated to finishes and samples and a conference room for design appointments with Bangs and her partner, interior design and retail showroom director Kayla Johnson.
