Letter from the Editor Billy Fong and Nickki St. George at one of the many Dallas Art Fair week events 34 M ay … hmmm. Yes, I am at a loss for words. From a party perspective, April was mayhem. I mean that in a good way — chaotic, but in an intoxicatingly intriguing way. It's moments like these when a prescription to some ADHD medicine might help me focus on my letter. May is a confusing month in Dallas. We're still in the midst of our bubbly social season, but with one foot out the door as we make final arrangements for summer travel. In fact, I am so filled with wanderlust that I made my way to the opening of the new Away store and ordered myself a navy (my signature shade of blue) suitcase which I'm having monogrammed … Well, if you know me, you know the letters I'm ordering (in white of course). I really should get a fake ID with the name Franklin Andrew Goff, so I wouldn't get so many side-eyes. I was half tempted to indulge in some travel accessories so the contents would be more organized, but frankly my packing doesn't resemble what I imagine Marie Kondo's must be. The moment when I arrive in … let's just say East Hampton … and open my suitcase is more "What? I forgot I packed an Ann Demeulemeester shrobe (yes, there is such a thing — hybrid tuxedo jacket/ robe)." Then I remember my rationale: I might get a last-minute invite to some Hauser & Wirth cocktail party at Bilboquet, and it would suck if I only had only some daytime Thom Browne to wear. In the meantime, may I present to you an issue brimming with inspiration: a gorgeous home designed by Caitlin Wilson, Louis Vuitton fashion that will likely make its way to your wish list, and oodles of party coverage from recent soirées where I hopefully gave you a wink. As we all near the finish line of Prosecco- palooza evenings at Park House and head out for the summer, you might find yourself flummoxed as you peer into your closet, pondering what to wear to one of the last events. I'll leave you with a quote I stumbled upon from Iris Apfel: "I like to improvise." Sage words from a style icon. Grab a sequined skirt and one of your husband's Tom Ford tuxedo shirts and improvise. Roll up the sleeves, throw on a Verdura cuff and some well-worn Blahniks, and you'll definitely find me sidling up to you at the bar with a compliment.
