OBSESSIONS. DECORATION. SALIENT FACTS. A spen may be famed for its award-winning resorts and tony members' clubs, but Chalet Alpina Resort, Residences and Membership Destination — the latest to be designed by the celebrated Martin Brudnizki — might just out-dazzle them all. Breaking ground later this year, the Chalet has an enviable location adjacent to Lift One (Aspen's first chair lift in 1946), with enviable ski-in/ski-out accessibility. Los Angeles-based Irongate Group, known for its lifestyle-driven resorts in Hawaii and East Cape, Mexico, has teamed with Aspen-based HayMax (Mollie Aspen) to envision a resort with five-star lodgings and on-site residences, including six expansive Mountain Homes and 26 resort residences. Brooklyn-based Guerin Glass Architects is bringing the concept to life, with a design integrated into the natural landscape. Two relocated and restored chalet buildings will be repurposed as a restaurant and the new Aspen Ski History Museum, run by the Aspen Historical Society, which will preserve and showcase the history of snow sports in the area. Due to unfold over the next few years, Chalet Alpina will also include a full spa, pool, fitness center, private ski shop, and exclusive members' club. To define the resort's aesthetic, its founders enlisted London-based Brudnizki, who has a stellar reputation for designing hot spots such as Annabel's in London, the Soho Beach House Miami, Hôtel Barrière's Fouquet's Paris, Eden Rock St. Barths, and Splendido, a Belmond Hotel, Portofino. "The inspiration behind the design takes cues from Aspen's history, blending the classic ski destination aesthetic with details that bring a sense of luxury, comfort, fun, and tradition," Brudnizki says Wi t h s k i - i n / s k i - o u t p r i v i l e g e s for residents, hotel guests, and club members, Chalet Alpina may be every jet-setter's favorite new enclave. chaletalpinaaspen.com. Save the Dates Knox Knox, Who's There? K nox Street — a mixed-use development anchored by the highly anticipated The Knox Hotel and Residences, Auberge Collection, that's set to open this fall — has revealed four coveted retail tenants: contemporary brands Dôen, Staud, Toteme, and TWP. They're all part of the 100,000-square- foot canvas of best-in-class restaurants and retailers coming to the neighborhood as part of this joint venture by BDT & MSD Partners, the owners of Highland Park Village, Trammell Crow Company, and The Retail Connection. If you're on social media at all, fashion from Dôen, Staud, and Toteme undoubtedly floods your feed — and having all three choose Dallas as their first Texas location is a feather in our sartorial caps. Both Dôen and Staud originated in California, and Toteme is a fashion house rooted in Swedish sensibilities. Trish Wescoat Pound's TWP is opening a permanent location at Knox Street after an impressive run in its pop- up at Highland Park Village. Watch for their Dallas debuts this fall. New stores already open in this chic and walkable neighborhood are TileBar, Kith, and Jones Road, joining such stalwarts Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Home, CB2, and RH. Breaking news: We hear that the anticipated Caffe Lucca by Julian Barsotti (Fachini, Nonna) will open this month in the space adjacent to Grange Hall. Also announced is the buzzy Sant Ambroeus, slated for a 2026 opening. Melissa Smrekar 36
