Letter from the Editor 30 CHASE HALL A pologies in advance … I have only a brief moment in front of my laptop before I must shower and change for a dinner party. My letter this month may be more like a Post-it note you might leave on the kitchen counter in the morning for your partner. Akin to "I love you today … I may not love you tomorrow, but I love you today if you empty the dishwasher." Succinct. That said, in this issue, you'll find a wondrous 13th-century Tuscan villa that was restored by Dallas landscape architect David Hocker and his wife, Gisela Borghi; a smattering of recent delicious parties; and some insidery tips for the Round Top Antiques & Design Show. I find our fashion spread particularly intriguing — it riffs on tarot cards. I was actually thinking about getting my cards read this year to make sure I'm prepared (and, of course, dressed appropriately) for any bewitching soirées and, sadly, any bedlam that might be in my future if the Tower card appears. After I submit this letter and chitchat at the dinner party on my horizon, I plan to rewatch Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette. Yuppers, I'm hooked — you may be as well. Hopefully you read my online story that posted the weekend the show debuted. I had to comment about the tiny details of Carolyn's iconic effortless girl-on-the-go style that were recreated by Ryan Murphy and his team. I hope that I can one day roll out of bed (as she does in the first 15 minutes of the pilot), throw on a minimalist black turtleneck and pant (with the most perfect slight flare above the ankle) and leave you a Post-it that says: "5:15 pm Park House. Cocktails and mischief. Don't disappoint." Adoringly, Billy Fong Dallas Editor in Chief billy@papercitymag.com Shelby Goff and Billy Fong at The Conservatory dinner for Gabriela Hearst
