Raising the Bar Design DNA Cloud Cover lamp, $899 80 T ileBar, a NYC design institution, has planted its flag in Dallas, opening its first Texas retail showroom — and the company's largest to date. Designed by Gensler and located in Dallas' Knox-Henderson neighborhood, the 9,000-square-foot space is organized for exploration, with expansive displays of tile, stone, and vanities and fixtures, along with an outdoor area intended to spark ideas for indoor- outdoor living. Joining a global survey of Italian marble, Turkish limestone, terrazzo and classic porcelain are earthier zellige, terracotta, encaustic and cement tiles, and richly pigmented Mudd Concrete sinks. Dedicated workshop zones support A cre, a new furnishings line by Tanner Moussa and Mackenzie Moussa Lewis, takes inspiration from the natural world's wide-open spaces through tactile materials such as rope, rattan, antique brass, and other hand-finished surfaces that develop patina over time. While nature is one point of reference, architecture is the other, expressed in the angular forms that shape the collection's furniture, lighting, and decorative objects. Pieces such as the Run Wild side table and Aeolian end table introduce rope-wrapped forms and solid volumes, while seating designs including the Meridian accent chair and Mirage and Echoes chairs emphasize carved silhouettes. Lighting is a prominent element in the line, with sculptural forms that feel architectural without being rigid. The Cloud Cover, Linear Thinking, and Delicate Balance lamps introduce softened geometry in materials such as textured brass and walnut detailing. Moussa and Lewis are the brother- and-sister duo behind MOUS, their much-heralded furniture line. the-acre. com.
