K ip's Bay Decorator Show House Dallas President's Dinner was a glittering success. Designers came to celebrate the night's honoree, Jan Showers, for her decades of contributions to the design community. Jim Druckman, president of the New York Design Center and of Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club board of trustees, did the honors, along with the evening's co-chairs Claire Emanuelson and Shelby Wagner, along with Kips Bay's Nazira Handal, who oversees all show houses; executive director Daniel Quintero; and event vice-chairs Doniphan Moore and Nancy Rogers. The evening began with a VIP viewing of the show house before guests made their way downtown for dinner at the Neiman Marcus flagship on Main Street and an elevator ride up to the Zodiac Room on the sixth floor, where a champagne cart and server were in the elevator ready to pour. In case you need a primer, the original Kips Bay Decorator Show House was launched in New York City's Upper East Side in 1973 to raise funds for the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. Over the decades, it has become a must-see for design enthusiasts, so Kips Bay expanded to Palm Beach, then brought the concept to Dallas for the first time in 2020. The President's Dinner originated in NYC to celebrate that city's designer show house and was introduced to Dallas in 2022. It's all for a good cause — in addition to Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club, local charities also receive funding from the event are Dwell with Dignity and The Crystal Charity Ball.
