Dishing on Design + Craft's Perfect Future with The Future Perfect's Laura Young As TFP's managing director, Laura Young oversees, in collaboration with a staff of 50, a phalanx of pedigreed properties made over into design galleries, spread across America — in San Francisco, NYC, L.A., and, as of last December, in Miami, in the 1920s-era Villa Paula. We caught up with the director between Salone del Mobile Milano and New York design week, at The Future Perfect's 1852-era West Village St. Luke's Townhouse, on the eve of the opening of her "Dudd Lite" exhibition. Young, who has been with TFP since 2014, tells us her secret weapon as an artist whisperer, four exhibitions that changed her life, why she once got kicked out of a museum, and rumors that The Future Perfect is eyeing Texas. As told to Catherine D. Anspon. Art direction Michelle Aviña. Photography David Sierra. Hair Jenni Wimmerstedt. Makeup Moises Ramirez. 66 Petite Cathedral sconces – Pair 1 by Jason Koharik, exclusively at The Future Perfect.
