Corey Damen Jenkins Lights Up Tobia Scarpa with Biagio 32 It may be the oldest line in the design playbook, but when Corey Damen Jenkins says lighting is the jewelry of a room, you believe it. With his debut lighting collection for Eichholtz, the AD100 and Elle Decor A-List designer has made good on that philosophy. The 32-piece collection marks a first on two counts: it's Jenkins' inaugural venture into lighting design and the first designer collaboration for Eichholtz, the globally renowned Dutch luxury interiors brand founded in 1992. The collection debuted internationally at Maison & Objet in Paris in January. The result of a year-long creative process — and more than 100 hand-sketched concepts — the collection draws on Jenkins' signature blend of art, architecture, and couture, with references spanning ancient civilizations, organic florals, alabaster, celestial motifs, and movements including Art Deco, Neoclassicism, and Viennese Secession. Standout pieces include the Art Deco- inspired Victory chandelier, whose fan- shaped silhouette evokes the soaring geometry of the Chrysler Building, and the Erika chandelier, its hand-cast glass feathers cascading in a shimmering formation that conjures the plumed headdresses and jeweled glamour of a flapper-era soirée.
