Eames Pavilion System for Kettal debuted at Design Week in Milan earlier this year. S eventy-some years after Charles and Ray Eames dreamed up a house you could order like a kit of parts, it's finally coming on the market. The Eames Pavilion System, developed by the Eames Office with Barcelona manufacturer Kettal, debuted at Milan Design Week 2026 as a fully engineered construction system extending the Eameses' own Case Study House No. 8 World's Most Stylish Prefab By Rebecca Sherman. Photography Yosigo, Rocafort, courtesy Kettal. and drawing on a wider trove of residential work, including Case Study House No. 9, two houses designed for Billy Wilder, and the timber-frame Shelter House and De Pree House. Nearly three years in development under Eames Office director Eames Demetrios (the couple's grandson), the system comes in sizes ranging from a 16-square-meter garden pavilion to a fully outfitted two-story house. Built of aluminum, glass, polycarbonate, and wood with interchangeable roofs, façade infills, and glazing, the panels arrive in the kind of primary-color, Mondrian- esque blocks that made the original Eames House so recognizable. Single-room indoor pavilions go on sale at the end of this year, with two-story versions arriving in 2028.
