1954 HALF A CENTURY OF INNOVATION IN PURSUIT OF TECHNICAL PERFECTION With a new incarnation of stylistic and technical features from the TUDOR diving watches of days gone by – in particular 1954's legendary TUDOR Submariner – Heritage Black Bay is an open book on several decades of deep-water adventures. It borrows its overall look and domed glass from the brand's very fi rst diving watch, the imposing winding crown from a 1958 model and its characteristic hands from TUDOR models released between 1969 and the 1980s. Available in a seductive version with warm colors and a burgundy bezel or a model with a sharp, icy look, exalting the original purpose of the TUDOR Submariner tool-watches, Heritage Black Bay is the result of an alchemic blend of unique heritage, modernity and cutting-edge technology representing entire chapters of the history of diving watches. TUDOR's decisive contribution over more than half a century has made its mark on the history of diving watches. A s f a r b a c k a s 1 9 5 0 , H a n s Wi l s d o r f – w h o revolutionized both watchmaking and the history of the wristwatch through the ROLE X brand he founded, before launching the TUDOR brand to bring this savoir-faire to a wider public – designed some of the most iconic models in watchmaking history. The first TUDOR Submariner (Ref. 7922), with its gold embossing on the dial, appeared in 1954. Several developments followed, including the Ref. 7923 and the famous Ref. 7924, now much sought-after by collectors. In 1969 the brand entered new waters with the TU DOR Submariner model (Ref. 7021), whose square hour markers and famous "Snowflake" hands have become a company hallmark. But TU DOR watches are also remarkable for their technical prowess, meeting all requirements for extreme ocean depths – so much so that they were adopted as professional diving instruments by the US Navy in the 1960s and later by the French navy. Today, with this wealth of experience and heritage behind it, TUDOR designs diving watches that combine style with high performance, constantly setting the standard. All the way to the bottom of the sea. STEEPED I N L E G E N D 1977 French Navy TUDOR HERITAGE BLACK BAY Self-winding mechanical movement, waterproof to 200 m, 41mm steel case.
