Meredith loves it for another reason: It's where his hunting trophies are mounted, most of them bagged on trips with his father. "I shot a caribou with my dad in Alaska," he recalls. "We were snowed in for a week or so, stuck in a tent, and we were laughing, playing cards, telling stories. Before he passed, we even talked about those trips." His favorite mount is one most hunters wouldn't think twice about: "It's a three-point buck. It was my first year hunting with my dad. I was 7 years old, and I was so proud of it. Some of the trophies might not be big, but the memories are big." .
