Photography Rosw itha Vogler. azz Houston continued its upstart introductory season with an intimate gathering at the home of Board of Directors member Reggie Van Lee. Jazz Houston, which supports a full resident jazz orchestra for the city of Houston, is only the second such jazz institution in the country comprised of world class musicians. The evening was chaired by Van Lee and his compatriot, social queen Phyllis Williams, and included trombonist and composer Vincent Gardner, who is lead trombonist for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra and artistic director and trombonist for Jazz Houston.
